Local rebellious teenager Clothier falls in love with his schoolmate Jackie, but gang violence leads him down a darker and more destructive path. Malik Frikah, who plays the 17-year-old Clothier in this film, was a world champion Breakdancer at the age of 10.

One of the characters wears a Rolex Daytona Ceramic in the 90s, but the watch wasn’t released until 2016. The film is very long and quite uneven between the first part, when the characters are teenagers, and the second part, ten years later.

The acting is really good

The young actors are fresh and genuine. Adele and Francois are top notch.

Mostly British and American songs, but based on the era

Alain Chabat is a big teddy bear, and as usual you want to punch Benoit Poolward. The musical background really sets the tone for the 80s in a small French industrial village.

You end the movie with a smile on your face

It’s not the best movie of the year, but it’s a beautiful, crazy passionate love story. Even though you’re uneven, you follow Clotaire and Jackie the whole way.
